If you are prone to cystitis or kidney problems, it is better to take cranberry tablets (Capsules) which are sold at H & B and probably other health food shops too. I think you can take them all the time and will help keep infections etc at bay. Hope you feel better soon Dawn and anyone else suffering. Liz |

Oh Dawn sorry to hear you are not well. I too suffered from Cystitis, from a teenager until I was about 30years old. If the infection goes from your bladder into your Kidneys the pain is even worse and is called, Pyelonephritis. It is very painful and always needs treating by your GP. Luckily I only had the kidney infection once. I would not wish it on anyone. I have also heard that dringing plenty of water or Cranberry Juice is good, but I always swore by Lemon Barley Water. There is an 'over the counter' remedy that is very good, but I think this only treats Cystitis. You have my telephone number, so when you get up here, I am only a phonecall away from you. You can see my Doctor in an emergency, whilst you are up here. Will PM you later. Jenny. xx |

Sioux and Susie i am drinking like a fish but hate water so was told years ago milky tea is ok and seems to help me think its the warmth of it as well. Have Cranberry Juice and going through that. Will remember the natural yoghurt (even though not keen on yoghurt) Have to get onto my doctors when we get back to see if they want another sample tested will depend what this one shows up. |

Dawn, drink lots and lots of water to flush the infection out as well as the pills.. Also Cranberry juice is good for water infections. If you have to take Anti-B's, as you come to the end of the course then try eating some natural live yoghurt to reintroduce the friendly bacteria to your gut, as the anti-B's kill the good as well as the bad. Sending you lots of love & healing hun. XX Sioux |

Up this morning with the old Cystitis again in agony rang doctors and told to go straight to Newdoc service. Have a lot of protein and blood cells showing in urine so definite infection which in the last 2 hours has moved up towards kidneys cos after years off getting this I can tell the pain as it moves upward and temp is going up which Dr warned me about . Hoping antibiotics kick in soon otherwise hubby says we aren't going away tomorrow. At least it was only half hour wait to be seen. |
