Mmm, thank you for your replies. Susan, consider yerself told off for putting yourself down! lol I will keep persevering with this new layout; I'm sure there's still things I haven't done yet that will show themselves! lol :-)

I haven't been on the site for a while, so have missed the debate about the new tree format, so I've been and had a look! It seems fine to me, I can change the layout of the tree by the tools at the top, have managed to delete a branch quite easily and managed to find specific people in shared trees, (again the tools at the top) and I think the seach facility of the whole site is an improvement. I think it might take a bit of experimenting with, but IMHO not bad at all. Suex

Call me thick, but I think I am missing something here. On my tree I just have boxes no names, what am I not doing? Sue

The main drawback in my mind is that if a contact opens their tree to you it is impossible to search for a particular name in their tree. Hence the whole point of being able to make contact and find possible common ancestors and family lines becomes meaningless. D Jones

Hiya. With the controversy over the new tree layout, can anyone tell me the benefits of the new layout, please? I ask, because at the moment I prefer the old layout and am wondering how the new layout is better. This isn't aimed at criticising it, merely to inform a probable ignoramous of what she might be missing! lol Thanks in advance. :-)
