Microsoft has announced the release of IE 7, it will be an automatic update for those of you who have that feature enebled in XP some time in the near future. Gotta laugh, a security bug has been found in it already. Full details on the Microsoft site . www*microsoft*com . .Ron www*genealogyprinters*com |

with all microsoft updates you have the choice to view all updates available and install the ones you want and leave the ones you dont (that is if you go to the site and select updates from there) unless you have like Ron said auto updates and set to install after download Paul |

Like all Windows Automatic Updates it will not install without permission, when you download any XP updates you are asked to install them, there are 2 options to do this, One is Express (Reccomeded) suprise, suprise, the other is Custom. If you click on Custom you can tell XP what updates to install and what updates not to install by removing the tick out of that particular bit of the download. I will be leaving out the IE7 download for at least a couple of months until they sort out the bugs that are apparantley in it. Just like the XP system itself, first they released SP1 to fix bugs or security weaknesses that had been found and lo and behold they even had to issue an XP2 fix and they are still releasing regular security updates for XP. I think they ought to get XP right before even thinking about releasing Windows Vista. Ron www*genealogyprinters*com |
