I just signed myself off as being middle aged on Lynda's thread, but I did think I was probably a bit young to be middle aged. I suppose it depends how long you are going to live!!!!! What do you consider middle aged? Jeanette x

Well I'm 40 too but I don't really feel middle aged. But having said that, 80 would be a good age to reach! I think I'll go with Sylv's answer! I always said I was going to hang around for a long time just to pee everyone off! LOL

My dad, bless him, when he reached the age of 70, said to me, 'this body may be 70 but inside beats a heart of a 16 year old'. Sylvxx

Last year, on my 65th birthday, my daughter sent me a card which had inside it 'you are always the same age inside' I suppose middle age is about 45 these days but it is only a number. In the days of our ancestors a lot of us probably wouldn't be alive now and old age was about 50 so I am definitely over the hill, but, except when my back is playing up, I don't think of myself as old. And when the media talk about elderly ladies of 65 i get quite a shock!! In the late 18th and early and late 19th I had a Gt Gt grandfather die age 77, a Gt Gt Gt die aged 85 and a Gt Gt Gt Gt die aged 93 (Father, son and Grandson) Ann Glos

Yes Ann, most of my ancestors lived to be 85 to 90. They were nearly all Ag Labs so it must have been all that hard work and fresh air!

The saying goes: 'You are young as the man you cuddle'. Well I must be a child as mind acts as young as his own kids at times. Heather

I have always thought that middle age is ten years older than what ever age i am! When i was in my 20s, someone in their 30s seemed old, now i am 45, they are so young!!!!!
