Eleanor, as you are young, be careful of falling into the trap of paying the reduced stamp....when married or whatever.......you also get a reduced pension!! Bob

Eleanor, good points, I am afraid that I am no longer in the life of the working..........I was fortunate enough to have had a full working life, and I am not up to speed on the modern situation, but I agree, I would NOT like to be young, in this day and age...starting out... I remember when I WAS young my next door neighbours' daughter got married, and Her dad was able to buy her a terraced house...for £200.things being a bit relative, for example a new motorbike would have cost about £120. I was an apprentice, on £4:15 shillings a week......with some overtime, I managed to get a whole fiver in my wage packet when I got engaged, her ring cost 14 1/2 guineas..........nearly 4 weeks wages. no, I wouldnt like to be young now, but I DO wish the young, God Speed....they will need it!!
