Starting from when I was a a teenager.... The first time I came 1st in 'Best Horse and Rider' I trained really hard to become the best I could be and won it over 40 other riders, and then each year after for a further 6 years. When I met my fiance, a true inspiration in my life. The day my daughter was born (Boxing Day last year) |

Must agree - birth of babies. That special glow/feeling never goes away. All so precious. No matter what life throws at us we can always draw on this. My children are all very differant (sp?) but I can remember every moment of their births as if it was yesterday. Luv ya kids xx Mum x |

All my Christmases in Wales with my grandparents The day I got my horse The day I passed my 11* (didn't know then that I'd hate grammar school) First day teaching Our wedding day Birth of our son Son's graduation ceremonies All my Youth Theatre group's performances Strangely, my Mum's funeral was also a golden day for us. The church was packed with her friends from over the years and pupils she had taught. At the 'do' afterwards in the church hall so many people came up to us and said so many lovely things about her that we found it very comforting. Afterwards we went home to Dad's and read through the cards and letters and we all had a good cry. But it was wonderful to read how well she was thought of and of the lives she had touched. Gwynne |

Mine was more of a golden summer than a moment. Many years ago we upped sticks and moved from a busy town to a peaceful rural hamlet. That first summer in our new surroundings was a magical time in our lives. Like most things, the contentment didn't last but, in hindsight, that made it all the more special.... |

I didn't expect to see this still going. Isn't it wonderful that so many of our golden moments are connected to our families? Bob I can imagine that was the moment for both you and Jean to top all moments. so pleased for you that it happened. I have found this thread very uplifting, thank you for all your lovely replies. White roses Sharon how lovely, lucky you, treasure him! I forgot another one, a couple of years ago when youngest grandson was 8 we were going to Florida with his family (my son), Grandson didn't know and his face lit up when he spotted us at the airport and said'Nana, what are you doing here, we are going to Disney' When i said 'so are we, we are going with you' he lit up with a huge beaming smile.
