I have now have quite a large database on Genes, thanks to a lot of help from other GRU members. As a consequence my tree now generates large number of enquiries and in all cases where a match is established, but a notable few, I am happy to provise access. However recently where the enquirers boasted of databases in their tens of thousands & on their GRU database there are a handful of names. Access was refused when the responses received explaining the lack of info on GRU were less than plausible. Is this site not about the exchange of info and making the benefit of researches available to others? |

I am wary these days of giving access and usually just give a written 'tree' of the people I think will be of direct use to people who ask from hot matches. I don't see giving blanket access to my whole tree in the knowledge that some people just want to collect names. Ann Glos |
