Dawn If I knew where you lived I'd come round and give you a strict talking to. I absolutely abhor Christmas.. not because of what Christmas means but because of all the flipping commercialism. Doesn't it make you want to hibernate for the winter. Anyway have a good one what ever your point of view. |

Melvyn I love Christmas, we dont buy loads of food and stuff ourselves just a few extra bits, and what the children have I have to save for but love watching their faces as they open the presents and finding something that they wanted that they didn't think they would get. Also means we have a nice day together and they can do almost what they want and if that means eat all their chocolate coins in one go well thats fine. After having worked split shifts for years and when eldest was small hubby working Christmas means a lot to all be together although when we had no children I loved working it. Is far too commercialised and usually get children to make paper chairns for decorations rather than buy decs. Tree has gold sprayed fir cones on that we have collected earlier in year and hubby makes salt dough choir boys as a deccy. The people that run after school club got the children to make cards last year and laddo was only one that did a stable theme all the rest were big pressies so guess it has lost its true meaning for a lot of children |
