I am going to Candolim in November. Read all the reports on various sites, but wondered if anyone on GR had been there and what they thought (be honest) Linda

Thanks Jakie I have been told that a Couple can eat and drink for the evening for around £10. Would that be correct? Linda

Spent one Christmas at Calangute - loved it, but always find travel and new experiences interesting and exciting. Indian culture is VERY different from the UK - unpredicted power and water cuts, strange smells, busy, busy, busy and loads of haggling and blarney. You will eother love it or hate it! Goa actually has a strong Portuguese influence - if you find it 'backward', try the rest of India. Beautiful beaches, fabulous weather, friendly people, wonderful Indian food, amazing transport - try the putputs! Go with an open mind and you'll enjoy it. I would go back again - (the flight was the worst part) and if you need a loo, find a good hotel for coffee!!!!!! Enjoy Jay

I used to have to pay 'extra' for my breakfast, because it wasn't on the set menu. I used to have fruit platter, which was an amazing assortment of exotic fruits, beautifully presented on a dinner plate. Terribly extravagent and expensive at 50p! Jay
