Thank you all for posting. I'm so proud of him I could burst. Last year he was told he had a slight problem with his eyes and would never be able to fly with the RAF, which has been his dream. He was devastated but decided to challenge their findings and persuaded them to give him another chance. He's achieved this via a cadet pilot scholarship and he's so chuffed. Daisy

Please add my congratulations to your son Daisy. I know from experience how nervous you were. When my son took his private pilots licence he purposely didn't tell his dad or me when it would be. We came home from shopping one day and there was a polaroid picture of him beside the plane. Written at the bottom of the picture it said 'Michael's first solo' and the date. I am glad I didn't know at the time. I still worry every time he is in the air though. Teresa
