how awful dot it reminds me of my sons episode . he moved into his council house 6yrs ago and just after they moved in they were woken up at 3 in the morning to someone hammering on his door. he crawled downstairs and when he opened the door he had the shock of his life. there were 8 policemen with riot gear looking at him. it worked out that the previous tenant was wanted for jumping bail lol. my son had to prove who he was but they still returned a few months later!!! if they had contacted the council they would have been given the blokes new address, but thats too easy isnt it? susie |

My son had the same thing last week, for the boyfriend of the previous tenant. My lad has been at the flat for 5-6 years now, surely it can't have taken that long to chase this idiot up. |

Purple, We have been in our house nearly ten years now and are still getting nasty letters for the previous tennant, have to go through the whole ringing up and explaining that she ran off owing 6 months rent and no we don't know where she is, can be quite worrying incase it goes on your credit rating! Helen. |

I had the TV Licensing people turn up about 8pm not long after we moved into a council house about 20 years ago. They were looking for the previous tenant & I had to show him our TV license before he'd go. Then the following week about the same time of night, just after I'd put my then 2 year old to bed I had three policemen looking for the same person. They came in for a cuppa while they verified the story I told them. My story was & is absolutely true - my husband was away on his basic training course after joining the local police force!
