Been to the hospital today, and doctor is going to arrange for me to have a PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scan of my lung. Apparently there are very few NHS places where they do this scan, a dozen around London, non in the North West here, but we do have a private BUPA place not too far away, where it can be done. Update 7/11 Going to have this scan done in the morning, fingers crosssed.

daughters about to have PET scan & Ct scan now she is at the end of her chemo for Hodgkins. Its just to make sure all lymph nodes are now clear of cancer cells. Guess your doc wants to check your lungs for any signs of anything untoward. doesnt mean there will be anything tho .

We had voluntary body scans from LifeScan which were on special offer from Saga, it threw up what they termed a lobular nodule of 2 x 1 cm in my right lung, although I have no symptoms to suggest anything untoward. It was suggested that I have it checked out further, hence the visit to hospital today.

Val you are certainly getting your money's worth out of those checks, hope nothing is found to be wrong. Bit like having an Mot test really I suppose! Good luck. Liz

Well we live and learn - I never heard of a PET scan. Hope everything goes well with you Val. (Was wondering how you get a cat under the scanner lid ! )

Thanks Joe, however, a PET is different to a CAT, lol
