I am going to look round one today with the view of joining a gym. I saw a physio on Monday and she said she wanted me to take up cycling, swimming and Pilates to help strengthen my core stability muscles. She hopes this will sort my back pain out. Sounds like hard work to me but i will be good and see what they have to offer. Don't know how i am going to fit all this in though. Jane |

Hi Karen Yes youre right i am nervous about going. My core stability muscles are terrible and so i am frightend about making a fool of myself and not being able to keep up. This gym runs classes for helping with this problem so it should be good for me but its just picking up the courage to go in and try it. Jane |

hi Jane,Good luck! Its a great feeling when you have had a good workout, it takes some effort at first but eventually it will become part of your life:-)) Pilates is a great way to strengthen your bones and muscles,I do Yoga, which is similar. Roxanne x |

Thanks everyone for your advice and encouragement. Well I have committed myself to a year. I just hope it helps my back and i enjoy it. I wanted to join the classes as i can't see myself using the gym but unfortunately they are all at the wrong times. However they have thrown in a personal trainer to help me with a workout. There is also a swimming pool so if all else fails i can use that. my induction is next week then i can start using the facilities. All the best Jane |
