Blue Grass by Elizabeth Arden reminds me of my Mum - always wore it. Freshly mown grass reminds of my Dad - used to mow the lawn in the evening when I'd gone to bed. Sadly both dead now. When I was still at school I remember buying Californian Poppy and my Mum said it was common - I'd bought it at Woolworths! At College I used to buy Hartnell 'In Love' and when I first went to work I used to wear 'Intimate' by Revlon. Now I like 'Happy' by Clinique. My parents ornaments are still wrapped up in the newspapers they had in their house when we finally had to clear it. They smell of pipe tobacco and I can't throw them away. The smell of ginger beer always reminds me of my aunt's cellar where they kept the ginger beer plant. What a good thread! Janet :-) |

I'll try Amirage I think my daughter had that and Escape reminds me of her. I know how you feel about having something of your parents I have lost both of mine and with me its is usually cooking the sunday roast smells that reminds me of happy days when we all used to sit down to lunch when I was growing up, and mum loved baking, and dad loved bonfires late out in the garden with my bother and sister all dancing about until we had to go in. I'll have to get a sample and try Samsara, I agree with you Poisin is not very nice. I had a friend who used to wear Oscar de La Renta that was very heavy too. Anyone tried Volupte made by the above but much lighter, I really like it but hard to get hold of now . Marie |

Youth Dew is my mother-in-Law and Poison ... the perfume not her LOL she is lovely. but they were too strong for me they 'followed you'. My twin could wear those strong perfumes but they did not smell good on me .. weird! It was'nt Ponds cream was it, my mum always had that on her dressing table and Nivea cream in a blue tin. Marie |

Oh yes I remember it well LOL, that was one of the nicer ones. I did not like Brut. You should smell them all after games at the school where I work, they are worse than the girls, its overpowering sometimes but better than the alternaltive LOL Marie |
