len its a shame that they are showing the programme at 9pm as im sure it would interest children as well as adults.

You're right. It was more suitable for children. I am surprised that Horizon should have lowered its standards so far, with such a nerd presenter. There's a lot of academic studies going on, particularly on chimps who have mastered sign language and not only converse with humans but teach it to their offspring. The first thing scientists should ask themselves is why animals developed articulation, if not to communicate. The first Europeans to meet up with Africans and Japanese assumed they had no proper language. No doubt the first alien from outer space to land here will make the same assumption. Hope it wont be a trophy hunter. len
