Jeanette, so sorry to read of your problems and hope your dad's pens turn up, and that those evil scumbags get caught. Very frightening to know someone has been in your home when you are there especially and hope you and yours will manage to feel secure again. Liz

Sorry to hear that. A few weks ago Our daughter-in-law called in and found the side gate open. When I checked the gate there were marks as if it had been climbed. There's normally a padlock on it but I must have forgotten to fasten it. However, the intruder must have beat a hasty retreat when faced by three dogs. The gate now has spikes on the top !

Thanks everyone for your messages. We now have new locks on the doors and the keys are being kept well away from the letter box! Livvy seems to be a lot better tonight, but I expect to find her in my bed when I go up. I think I'll let her stay there tonight! I know we all have a tendancy to knock the police from time to time, but I can say they have been absolutely great today. Just need them to catch the little b*ggers now! lol Jeanette x

Sorry to hear this Jeanette - but I am glad that you are all ok. Thank goodness you woke up when you did. When my sis and b-i-l moved into their first flat, she came home one day and disturbed burglars - they had piled all their stuff (wedding presents, jewellry etc) up in the hall ready to take. She was very lucky not to lose much and not to be hurt as they charged out past her. Hope you can get some sleep tonight and your daughter is not too upset by everything Maz. XX

Sorry to hear you've been burgled. My daughter was last year and amongst other things they took a video camera with all the film in it of their new baby. She was only three weeks old. Hope you have some luck with your Dad's pens Linda x

Jeanette Sorry to hear you have had some nasty B*****DS burgle your house and take the pen set of your Dad's. If I were you I would get security lights, cctv and an alarm then your insurance will come down a bit. Give Livvy a BIG HUG from me and hugs to you. God if I got my hands on them they wouldn't need a court case and they wouldn't be able to use their hands either ever again. Doesn't the fair go on to Nottingham from where you are. Hugs SueXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Jeanette, It might be a good Idea ( in this day and age) to get an Alarm linked to Lights and a Laser Beam,Just High enough to let cats and dogs etc get under it but not others with ill intent. It may also lower your Insurance Premiums and give you a little peace of mind,I know it did us. I hope they catch the Toerags that did it and put them away for a long time. Hal.

The police have been round and Livvy's school bag has been found along with one of my handbags in a tenfoot not far from our house. My other handbag has been found in a pond a couple of miles away. They didn't take my cards but they did take the cash. Unfortunately they took my Dad's pens :-( My only hope of having them returned now is if they turn up in a search as they were engraved from me and my OH. There were several burglaries in the area last night and the police have managed to get a fingerprint from one of the houses. Is it just a coincidence that the Fair rolled into town last weekend? I don't think so!

Jeanette I hope you are ok. I know how it feels. I have been burguled several times. Once they drugged my dog. The last time 2 years ago was like you 5.30 in the morning. They smashed the doubled glazed kitchen door, we were up in a flash but they still took my bag. They done to same to next door the previous week, took her car keys and pinched the car. I really do sympathise it horrible. Sue

Jeanette, just seen this. I am so sorry to hear about the burglary. What a world we live in. I know you are covered by insurance but it is the violation of your home that is the worst thing isn't it? I do hope your Dad's pen is in the bag, but if they dumped it with the cards in it sounds like youngsters. have you worked out how they got in to prevent it happening again. Hope you are OK anyway.
