I believe £12 per hour is the going rate in my neck of the woods. A friend of mine regularly uses a researcher in the PRO and her charges are nothing like AA. Makes me wonder if he's taking you for a ride. Were you recommended to him? Sheila

Like someone said records office seem to charge between £10-£20 per hour they dont have to travel to get the info, look on there web sites as it usually tells you how much and on some you can download a form to send in if you dont ask via email. Star

I have just spoken to him on his Mobile telephone No. (No Office No Given) so will keep you all informed of his progress. He said he thought he had replied to my enquiry and promised to send it.. For the record I had problems finding my G.Grandfather's death until I eventually found out he along with all officers and men were lost in the Bermuda Triangle on board H.M.S.Atalanta in 1880!!!

Expensive, it may be. However, he's 'famous' so can charge pretty much what he likes :) Hope he comes up with the goods!

Received my progress report today from Anthony Adoph. It does not give me any information that I have not already given him!!!! Up to present I would not give any Top of the Class Marks. However he has said that if I send him a further £315 he would seek the death of Jame's Father!!!! Think he will have to wait until the Government increase the Old Age Pension!!!!!

I have not used Anthony but was given the name of Margaret Drummond by a wonderful member on here. Margaret researches the Scotland side and I believe Joan Allen does the English side. All she had to go on was his birth cert (he was illegitimate) and for the total cost of £150 she not only came up with copies of his moms birth and death cert but a couple of others to. This was a cost of £50 the extra £100 was she found his living family and acted as a mediator. I should have said he was brought up with a foster family. His mom died 2 days before his first birthday. That was the best £150 ever spent. For 66 years he lived thinking he had no family. She Wray is the one I shall be eternally grateful for it's thanks to her that I found out about Margaret. Pat
