My local is a fantastic real ale pub - attracts a lot of rugby players (yum yum). However it has the rather unfortunate name of 'The Cemetery'. It's more lively than the cemetery across the road.

Our local is The Rubbing House. It's the only pub in the country that's actually on a racecourse. It used to be where the horses were rubbed down after the races. In nearby Ashtead, there is a pub called The Leg of Mutton and Cauliflower, now known as LOMAC, Don't know how it got it's name though. sue xx

Mine is the Brown Cow but only really get there when Graeme is about, We had our wedding reception there and it is 13th century in origin and is supposedly linked by a secret passage to the cistercian monastery of Furness Abbey, a mile down the valley! Haunted too apparently! Lovely thread catherine! Caz xxxxxxxxx

Do you have a local that you go to. Mine is called The Blue Pig. The locals were in the paper the other week to try and find out why it was called this. On an old stone wall near the pub is a pig's blue bottom that sticks out of the wall.lol. It's a great pub, everyone knows each other, great atmopsphere. Have you got any funny/great pubs near you? catherine xx
