Although I only have a standard video recorder, can I record freeview progs. Want to record wild sargossa sea tomorrow, but it's on bbc4 |

In a word, no. There have been plenty of programmes I would like to have recorded from Freeview, but can't. It's not like a Sky setup where you tune one TV station in to be able to watch Sky, with Freeview it seems to take over whatever channel you happen to be watching. |

Yes you can, assuming you have a VCR with Scart input as well as output. Plug Freeview into vcr via Scart cable and select AV1 on VCR, Turn TV on to VCR channel and hey Presto!! you should see Freeview :) You can only record 1 Channel on freeview, ie. you can't record BBC4 and watch Cbeebies. The personal video recorder (hard drive) I got from Aldi has twin freeview tuners so you can watch one and record another. Bob |
