With Autumn now firmly establishing itself I got to thinking about how lucky we are in the UK to have such a variety of different seasons. I love this time of year, with a freshness in the air, leaves falling but still the occasional sunny day, so what's your favourite season? Baz :o) |

Oh that a difficult one to choose. I love them all for different reasons. Autumn-for the leaves falling, sunny but fresh. Picking conkers in the park. Winter-for the cold days, staying in, baking, all the winter produce you can get, Christmas and the nights round the fire. Spring-for the new life on the trees and spring flowers. Summer-for the hot days long days, hanging your washing out, not having to wear much and the kids out in the garden playing. catherine xx |

Isn't that the great thing about the seasons? Each one is different and means different things to folks. Winter was always special because of Christmas with the children - then they grew up and it sort of lost it's magic. Then along came the Grandchildren and there it all was again, but better somehow! But we also love hot sunny days on the beach with the kids, helping them build sand-castles (Architectural designs of course!) and being big kids again ourselves (That's what Grandparents are for!) Baz :o) |

Spring for me too. All those little buds coming out, the trees coming back to life again, new life, new beginnings. |

I love Spring and all it symbolises - new growth etc but I DO love the colours of Autumn - the rich reds and browns are beautiful. |

Hi Roxanne, I have spoken to many people who have gone abroad to live, and they all say how much they miss the British Season changes. There are times when it is wet and cold that we all think about moving to sunnier climates, but to me the constant changes are worth staying here for. Baz :o) |

For me it's May, late spring/early summer where the days are getting longer, and warming up (usually, this year being the exception). Bluebells in the woods, the best of the dawn chorus, butterflies appearing, trees in blossom. For me its a time of vibrant colour and sound, holding hope for the coming months. I love October too, as said before, some days still sunny, and again, vibrant colours, this time all the reds yellows and golds, the fruits of the summer in abundance, walking through piles of crunchy leaves, kicking them up like children. Another time of preparation, this time for the winter months, with the colours reminding us of the good things about winter. |

Hi Baz, your right,I think if you asked most Brits abroad they would most certainly say the season changes. I love it here but I do enjoy going back in the winter:-)) |

Christmas Day 2004 was fabulous - just as we sat down to eat late afternoon the sow came down really heavily and watching it as we ate was lovely. We woke up on Boxing Day to about 8 inches of snow and went sledging - You can't beat it! |
