My grandchildren were at a party about 4 years ago at a local soft play area which included a ball pool. My daughter's friend worked at the centre and was telling us about the things they find in there when they are emptied. Just then one of the children shouted '(Name) has done a poo in his pants'. Although he had jogging bottoms on, it leaked out! We had to get all the children out of the ball pool and off the bouncy castle as he'd leaked there too! We've never been back since (and daughter's friend no longer works there). Sue xx |

I don't think you are worrying unecessarily, they can be dangerous places!!! |

where we go it is open to the public and there were other parties going on as well. There seemed to be some kids that I would have thought to big for that sort of thing but I suppose I am a bit bias in that opinion. Glad its not just me that can see the danger though. Sometimes think I always see the worst happening but prevention is better than cure as they say LOL |

I have had this problem with my little one, who has no fear and jumps around like a maniac!!! It is hard because they enjoy it so much, but I have had exactly the same worries as you. I think the only thing you can do is stay by the side of the ball pool and A) try and pull them up when they go under B) try and remind the bigger children not to jump in as there are little ones around. This is easier to control at a party, but is not so easy if you are at a public session, as often the other mums are sat chatting some way away and not paying attention to their child, and when you say something to their child they don't like it!!! Hopefully your granddaughter will soon have grown out of this and will be able to enjoy the soft play safely, fingers crossed for you!!! |

Had a party for my grandsons 5th birthday at a play centre for kids. Grand daughter is only 3 but out of all my kids and grand kids she is the tiniest, never seems to grow but she is always in the centre of the action. She was jumping of the cushions into the ball pool but what I didnt like is she kept laying on her back and making herself go right under and just layed there. Sometimes you would see her leg come up and it looked as if she couldnt get up. I was frightened that one of the big kids would jump on her or tread on her cos they couldnt see her. I told my daughter to go in and get her out but by the time she had got to the entrance grand daughter had got up. My heart was in my mouth as I kept having visions of her getting hurt. |
