VoIP - any recommendations --- sorted it now than

Considering getting a VoIP thingy to call friends and family over the net but would like to ring home (land line) cheaply too. My connection speed (Lan 10Mbps) is not a prob and have loads of free memory. So any recommendations???

My son is a computer programmer & he has instaled skype on my computer so that we can stay in touch now that he has moved out. I am not good with new tech. but have had no problems yet.

I have used Skype for both PC to PC and PC to telephone for about 18 months. Mainly to America and within UK, but Japan and Austrlia as well. generally reception is very good, but I think it is essential both you and the person you are talking to have reasonably modern (ie fast) computers.
