there called london cheesecakes, and are my fav and they sell them where i live in bedfordshire. Have you got a Greggs bakers near you? if you do they sell them

Oooh Ann - you're right. Yes - London Cheesecakes, and it seems they never made it North of Watford, They don't have them here in the Midlands either. Jeff

they are called london chessecakes, the sort i get for oh, are just pastry, icing and coconut...iris

Yes I asked about this months ago and swore it wasn't cheesecake :-) But it IS Don't know why its called that but I loved them. Can't get them here,I did try to make some but they turned out terrible

I think that sometimes they did have jam under the spongey bit My OH calls them hairy cakes lol

We have them here in Aberdeenshire but without the icing. they have just the sponge on top with a small bit of the pastry on the top. We call them cheesecakes although to me they are just sponge. My fil cuts his open and puts jam between the sponge and pastry. xx

Hi All - long time no chat I need help (lol) When I lived in the South we used to buy cheesecakes from the bakers - they were puff pastry topped with sponge then topped with shredded coconut set in icing - up here in the North they have never heard of them - please tell me I am not going insane Ann xx
