My FIL has been trying to trace his Carrs from Ireland for many years - has bought all of the discs etc. He is brassed off because I have been able to trace mine back to 1827 (even though I have a gap between 1871 and 1901 LOL). Wish I could afford to go and look at the parish records. My family derive from Southampton - not a part of the country I have visited but would love to. Believe many of their records have been lost. By the way he wont even lend me his discs - has offered to search them though - lives around the corner and I don't even have his lawn mower. LOL. Libby
