Thank you for Footprints. I have it on a card next to a picture of a beach with footprints in the sand. :-) Joy

So glad some of you saw this last night. John I've also got the book, plus a tea towel and bookmark!! always find this so uplifting. Anyone want to put A THOUGHT - on here tonight for tomorrow?

There are several variations of this poem and it always a blessing to read it. I have a book titled 'Footpints - The true story behind the poem that inspired millions' by Margaret Fishback Powers. One night I dreamed a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord. When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma. 'Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I needed You most, You leave me.' He whispered, 'My precious child, I love you and will never leave you never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints it was then that I carried you.' Incidentally others claim to have written this text also. The book written in 1993 says that it was 'written by Margaret Fishback - Thanksgiving, 1964 - Echo Lake Youth Camp, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.' The copyright is in her name. John

Footprints is so meaningful. I have a poster size print on my bedroom wall! Karen

For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. “LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way.
