Hi I can only find him after 1881 Did he perhaps have a Norwegian name in 1881 as there are hundreds of Norwegians born about his time in the 1871 census onwards! Penny

Hi, Just one of my guesses Nicloa, as he was in the 1891 census and as his oldest daughter was six then takes us to 1885 give or take a year, i thought he would have married his wife year or two before the daughter was born, he would have been 32 and as he ran away from home so he wouldn,t have to go into the family business in Norway, I guess he would have been in his teens.He would have worked his way to the uk on a boat to Liverpool like i said Nicola just a hunch
