Can someone, who knows a lot about PCs, also with MSN knowledge!!! tell me how to see the emoticons on [version 7] MSN. instant messenger I upgraded to MSN version 7!!!! but when I send or recieve an emoticon it only shows the letters! [like :-) or ;-) etc] On 6.2 it showed what you sent or recieved, as an emoticon/smilie etc.!!!!?????? Thank you all, who take a chance, to look at this, maybe to some people, a silly thread!!!! I'm sure if you go into options, there's an opton that says to allow emoticons. Sadly I can't run it at work so I can't check. If you're still having trouble tonight, I'll look into it when I get home. |

Hello again Paul I went to options as you suggested and went to messages, ticked show, on all emoticon boxes!!! But still only letters show when I send!! I havent checked with anyone of my contacts who have 7 yet to see what happens when they send to me ( all busy ) So yes please I will be grateful for some more help PLEASE!!!! Val lol |

yes hopefully you are right Ann!! I shall have to wait until someone comes on messenger, out of my contacts who is on version 7!! Then I shall see if their emoticons come through now, as well as they get mine! and not letters!!!!! Val |

val msn 7.0 is only a beta version (test) ,not yet completely compatible with 6.2 as yet,thats y the emoticons are like that and also you cannot play games with someone on 6.2 or couldnt unless theyve got round that one yet. just as a matter of interest i was told that beta versions are not completely security complete and could leave your comp open to hackers ok my sunday girl keith xx |
