Sometimes if I am having trouble sleeping I plan a dinner party. I am allowed to invite 5 others (Dead or Alive) as it makes it more interesting. Tonight I have invited the following 1) Florence Nightingale (as an ex nurse I have always wanted to ask her lots of questions). 2) Houdini (he may need to make an escape). 3) Jesus (have lots to ask him). 4) Frank Sinatra (to add some music). 5) George Clooney (just so that I may sit next to him). I am on a tight budget so will have to have Jamie Oliver to cook tonight. Who would you invite and why? Marianne.

I'd invite Tony Blair for politics, Sir Richard Branson for money talk, My GG Grandfather to tell us of his life as a merchant seaman and his tragic end with a torpedo, Terry Deary just to actually meet who's been advising me past 4 years, Derek Acorah for some mediumship after dinner, and I'd invite Nigella Lawson to cook, so she doesn't count as the 6th guest :-)

Marianne, firstly I.d settle for 'whomsoever'. Secondly, you come across as a delightful, gentle lady, so I will invite you along as well and let Victoria Wood do the cooking - after all she is 'dinner lady'. HAPPY DAYS

About 30 years ago I read a biography by Andrew Roth and was fascinated by his subject and ever since thought I would like to meet with and talk to Enoch Powell. Will have to wait until the afterlife! My son just looked over my shoulder and said Oliver Cromwell. Ann

Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky Claude Monet Sir David Attenborough Alexei Urmanov Kenny Everett I'd do the cooking myself. Steve McQueen would also be on my list, but not along with other people. ;>) CB >|<

Nelson Mandela Eddie Izzard Victoria Wood Germaine Greer Orlando Bloom Five people I really admire for various reasons and they are all intelligent, good communicators and have wit and charm. I think it would be a very entertaining evening as long as someone else did the cooking. Orlando can stay behind to help with the washing up Gwynne Update - I didn't know I could have dead people - Lord Byron Jane Austen Martin Luther King Sylvia Pankhurst Jim Morrison Same reasons as above!
