We did consider it was going to be expensive to go to a main dealer. We have a friend who was a mechanic before he joined up so we are going to ask him to have a look. I guess I`d rather pay out more and know the jobs getting done properly, but who knows. It`s such a pain as the car we are using at the moment is a little punto. Can`t compain at least it`s a car!!!Just such a pain when things like this happen!! xxxx |

Our car broke down the day before we went away, luckily our friends are away on detatchment and didn`t mind us borrowing their car!!Anyway it went to a garage whilst we were away and they have said the pistons are gone(or something like that) and has basically said we`ll need a new engine. They have said we can have a new engine or a second hand one!! Were wary about going for a second hand one because of problems we may get. However, our friends have informed us that this garage in question, told them their car needed alot of work done when they uput it in for it`s service, which they later found out not as much was needed!! What I`m asking is, are we within our rights to take our car somewhere else and get them to have a look at it too?? Ie a Renault garage( It`s a Megane scenic) Also does anyone know roughly how much brand new engines cost?? I have NO idea about cars and Chris just plods along willy nilly!!! Thanks everyone Kerry |
