A truly remarkable man, so many talents! He lived through turbulent times but managed to rise above all the trials and tribulations. Pity Tony Blair didn't take his advice over Iraq - when asked, the Pope apparently said to go to war would be 'a crime against humanity on a vast scale' - was he right? Lily (C of E)

A good man who suffered much and was never allowed sick leave or to retire. He had an exceptional life and whilst I did not agree with all of his views I very much admire and care for him. I am so glad he is in Heaven at last, after all he has been through. Rest in Peace well deserved. Abigail

God bless Pope John Paul II, for whom I have the highest regard. A great leader of the Roman Catholic Church. A man who fought for freedom in the Resistance in his homeland Poland during World War II. Dio benedice il Papa chi sarà mancato. Riposarsi nella pace con Dio. Joy
