Chloe - I had an education too, but arriving at over sixty I find the memory lets me down! As the contestants say on 'The Weakest Link' - it's so much easier when sat at home, to come up with the answers......... Lily |

According to Sellar & Yeatman's '1066 & All That', the story goes as follows - 'Edward VI and Broody Mary were the two small Tudors who came in between the two big ones, Henry VIII and Elizabeth. Edward VI was only a boy and consequently was not lallowed to have his reing properly, but while he was sitting on the throne everyone in the land was forced to become Protestant, so that Broody Mary would be able to put them to death afterwards for not being Roman Catholics. A good many people protested against this treatment and thus it was proved that they were Protestants, but most of the people decanted and were all right.' Sounds about right to me! CB >|< |

Chloe, Not short of friendly bacteria this evening are we.? Didn,t see the programme - think it was one of the Edwards followed liz. then Mary? but don,t think too many people would have known the right answer. Just a gentle chiding - I normally am a fan of your writings. I would have guessed at James 1 - wisest fool in christendom. happy days |

How stupid is she? 'I think Henry VIII was the last Tudor male monarch'!! Doh!! According to her, Elizabeth I succeeded Henry VIII.... she's posh, she's got money, surely she has an education to go with that?!? |
