We've lived together since i was 17 and he was 19. have now been married 21 years(now aged 41 and 43) and no,we have not had a relationship challenging bad patch. We very nearly had our house repossesed in the early 90s,when repossesion was rife but that's it. |

Yes in 1989 we had been married 19 years I was drinking far to heavily and it caused a 6 month break up in our marriage. I was 39 years old and went back to my Mums, In one way it helped my family because my father was desperately ill at that time and I was there to help my Mum through the last months of his life. It also caused me and my wife to rebuild our marriage because even though I had given her such a hard time before she helped me so much to get over the death of my beloved father, I will always be grateful to my wife for helping me in such a difficult episode in my life, and we got back together and we are still here 35 years married. We had a really bad patch last year, I nearly gave up on my marriage, sat down and went over everything and realised that I could not give up on my marriage been together for 16 years to long to throw away. I think you have to keep talking to each other the moment you stop is when things go wrong. |
