The conventional answer is yes, they are worth joining and you should join two: one for where you live and one where your main interest are. Norfolk has their own library in Norwich and Northumberland and Durham publish masses and masses of indexes, so both are useful societies. A local society enables you to meet other family historians, to hear talks on a variety of subjects, to talk to the speakers, to do project work. I love this site, but I do like the human contact you can get from an FHS. |

are you a member of any did u join online are they worth joining? i am thinking bout joining one but dont no wich one cos some rellies r in durham area and found some other rellies that were from norfolk areas |
