WHERE IS ST NEOTS ??

Can anyone tell me where abouts in UK St Neots is/was?? I have a birth on 1837 index that is name I am looking for, but not sure if its right area, census and family details are all Portsea/Hampshire does this one fit it?? My atlas no good to me, thanks Laurie
