Does anyone know if it is 5 or 7 days you can self certify a period of sickness? I am also confused as to whether that includes weekends- eg 5 working days and the weekend to make 7 in total? Is it statutory or can every company impose its own time limit? |

It's a 7 day period - so if your first day of sickness is a Monday, the seven days will expire on the following Sunday. As far as I know it applies to all companies. |
