Hi Gloryer

It's been like that for a number of weeks since they updated the 2007 electoral roll.

I try every day but it won't let me in.

Just told me it was updating it's site and back later. It hasn't been right for months and months now, used to be so good, but then had little info available on it.

I have just tried B4U as I have been on there often but...... I got the following message....

You are not authorized to view this page
The Web server you are attempting to reach has a list of IP addresses that are not allowed to access the Web site, and the IP address of your browsing computer is on this list.

Well I had no problem before!

I found this:-

This could be the problem:

"Following a large number of complaints from individuals, the Commissioner issued an enforcement notice, ordering the website b4usearch.com to stop using personal information from electoral registers published before 2002, after finding the site in breach of the Data Protection Act.

"We issued an enforcement notice against the website, which offers a free 'people search' facility, after receiving over 2000 complaints about the site. "

http://www.ico.gov.uk/tools_and_resources/enewsletter_and_alerts/previous_enewsletters/Engli sh/Edition2.aspx

And of course they can only put entries from the electoral register where people have not ticked the box on the voters form for privacy. This site and similar sites face court action, massive fines and closure if they do not comply.

and this:-

They were stopped because an over the top police officer (I use the term officer loosely) made a complaint about his name and address appearing and in doing so denied thousands of people the chance to find missing relatives. I notice that the police still have total access and that they he has not tried to stop all the sites that you can pay for the Info like 192.com

This site was stopped from the general public, as they were in Data Breach, also they never had an authorised licence, unlike 192.or some of the others who do,
