Is Jack his actual name, or was he John?

have you found his birth on free bmd?

I think you need his birth certificate if you have just taken his name from the census.

This does not look like your Jack, but the only one for the 'correct' area

If he was definitely born in Soho, it is about B66 2LR and Winson Green/Smethwick area.
