There is no birth on freebmd in Thornbury district 1963-1965 for Steven/Stephen Lawrence, nor is there a birth for Steven/Stephen with ANY surname who appears to be illegitimate

BUT.....I'm sure you've already done the research and discovered that

Yes, Charlotte said he was born in Thornbury, just outside of Bristol.

We have contacted the current owners but they don't know anything about John Lawrence or his wife.

I have posted a search on a few facebook pages but theres been no luck sofar and hardly no comments to help.

The only Steven/Stephen Lawrence/Laurence births around 1963-5 seem to be in Bristol..

The House in the Tree is in Staverton, near Cheltenham - not in Gloucester.
Might the present owners perhaps have records of the names of previous owners?

He isn't named on Charlottes birth ceritificate no, but when she asked her mother about him, she was pretty certain that his birthday is the 14th October 1963 but then we thought it might be between 1963-64.

We believe his name is spelt Stevem Lawrence and we were hoping to find his mothers name quite easily, with her owning her own pub in Gloucester at one point. But i've not seen / found anything! :(

Was his birth registered as Lawrence? Or under his mother’s name? But you obviously can’t know that, as you don’t know when he was born, or precisely where

Do you know for certain that his first name is spelled as you have it?

Is he named on Charlotte’s birth cert?

I am writing this for someone who doesn't have an account, we are so desperate to find answers, because Charlotte has been searching for ages and i have only been searching for maybe a week or so and the lack of answers is driving me insane!

We are trying to find Steven Lawrence, he was born in Oct 1963-65, we think he was born in Thornbury. His mum and dad used to be the owners of "The House in the Tree" in Gloucester, we know the dads name is John Lawrence but we don't know his mum's name. We do know his step mum is Margaret and we think John and Margaret got married just after Steven was born.

Steven used to live on White Hart Street in Cheltenham. He was with Charlottes mum briefly, they never married and then along came Charlotte in 1987 :). Steven was then with a lady and was back and to, to London for some time. But the main location has always been Thornbury where Stevens dad lived.

I don't know how much of this will be of any help, but i am so desperate to help Charlotte :( you may potentially see Charlotte and me searching for Steven on social media sites. But we have had absolutely no luck.

(Just to confuse the situation even more, you will see me under the name Lauren. That is my name! My P Slazuvask name is for my step dad who we were helping at the time when this account was made)
