I would like to find any children of my late cousin Charles Pace.
I think they were living in the Woking Surrey area in 1960/1980 s.
I think their names were Paul and David. There may have been more
children.
Any ideas would be appreciated. From Antonia

Start by finding accurate info using freebmd,
Presuming you know the name of Charles Pace’s wife, input both surnames to look for births of their children

When and where did Charles die? Who registered his death?

Antonia

Charles died in Malta about 10 years ago as far as I know. His wife's name was Josephine, no idea of her surname. Josephine may have died in uk after Charles died.

When was Charles born

Did they live in Malta ?

How was he connected to you

Afraid your enquiry doesn’t give enough info for searches

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 10 Dec 2021 23:59

When and where was Charles born?
Were the children born in Malta?

There's no record of a Charles Pace marrying a Josephine in England/Wales.

Maybe a possibility for Josephine's death, if she did indeed die in the UK:

PACE, JOSEPHINE 1936
GRO Reference: DOR Q1/2014 in SURREY (759-1I) Entry Number 509993623

Unless you know her surname it’s impossible to pinpoint any children

It may be both boys were also born on Malta ?

Maybe get the death cert to see who the informant was

ErikaH

The death cert will include the woman's maiden name - should help with births (IF they were in England/Wales)

No record of her in Surrey on ER's on FMP

There is a marriage in Surrey in 1979 of a Paul Pace.......but that's clutching at straws

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 11 Dec 2021 11:16

Just stabbing in the dark - looking for the birth of a Paul Pace in England/Wales -

Mizzi is a Maltese surname.

There's a Pace/Mizzi birth in Westminster in 1953.
[The page number of that birth is transcribed as 42 on FreeBMD, but it's 422 on the image.]

Also probable siblings born 1951, 1955, 1957 - though no David.
No relevant Pace/Mizzi marriage in England/Wales.

Muscat is another Maltese surname -
there's a Pace/Muscat birth in Fulham in 1965, and a possible sibling in Uxbridge in 1960 - but again no David.
No Pace/Muscat marriage in England/Wales.

Pace itself is a common surname in Malta (going by a Google search).
There are a few Pace/Pace births of children named Paul and David, but impossible to say if they're siblings or not - born in different places.

Anyway, you don't seem sure if those are their names or not.
Also, apparently, many surnames common in Malta are also common in the UK - Ross, Marshall, Thomas, Kerr, to name but four.

Thank you everyone for your help and ideas to go forward. I will get the death cert.
for the entry you have given me. It may give me the informant of the death, being
one of her children. I will try all your ideas. Thank you all.
from Antonia.Ps I will let you know how I get on.
