Thanks for your help, all I now is that he had a brother who settled in Cheltenham and we seem to think a birth date of 1945

Do you have a rough idea of his year of birth? Do you know where he 'came from'? Did he mention anything about his family - parents, siblings, wife or children?

Assuming he was in his 20's, there are loads by that name, most with middle initials listed on https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
I've searched 1935-1950.

Hi, I'm trying to trace a Michael castle who was based at robinswood -barracks,gloucester, approx, late 1960's (last known in northallerton about 1978)
