Thanks Gwyn, I have a sub with the BNA, and have found a few newspaper references about his death, but sadly no pictures, but great idea, thanks

Have you checked newspapers local to his home address or that of his parents?

When reporting deaths of military personnel, I have sometimes seen photos of that person.

Thanks Erika and Kath,

Yes I have tried the Essex Regiment Museum but sadly no joy, I am always hopeful that somebody somewhere might have a group picture with the names written in the back, you never know!

Have you contacted the Essex Regiment Museum to see if they have any group photos from the time?

The only chance you'll have is if someone on GR has the man in a tree on here

Look for his name and birth info

I would have thought that only someone connected would have any interest in your tree

My Great grandfather John Edwin Barnes, of the Essex Regiment sadly lost his life at Gallipoli in WW1. The one thing I want, more than any other family history thing, is a picture of him, sadly I don’t have one. If anybody has any group shots in their albums I would love to hear from you thanks Paul
