Although my mother's mother's family are the ones that were from Kent, my mother's father 's brother (my great uncle) lived in Hythe for a while according to records :-)

All my Grandmother's children (except for my mother) were registered in Elham. My mother was registered in Romney Marsh, her mother's ancestral home. My mother believed she was born on the Isle Of Sheppey, as her father was in the military.

My Grandmother's sister and her husband were killed in Aug 1940 when their home in Dymchurch received a direct hit by a Luftwaffe bomb in the Battle Of Britain :-(

My paternal direct line was in Tenterden as shoemakers in the 1700's

I lived in Tenterden as a small child and my maternal great Uncle was a policeman there before WW2.

I have a whole collection of Kent family history cd roms so if you need any info I will see if I can help.
