Even if you post the message on every single board and it is read by, say, 1,000 members, you are still only reaching 0.01% of the GR membership. The remainin 99.99% will be blissfully unaware that anything is going on.....!

Oh dear you are having problems. Hope you can get them sorted. Who'd be a software developer?

I did put a thread on gen board so people should have seen it.

I sadly have to apologise. The new release has not been deployed, and we are continuing to investigate the issues that we have not witnessed in our test environment but occur after deploying to our live environment. I will let you all know when the release will go ahead.

Every day, I seem to be learning a bit more about what I should do. I promise I (it) will get better as I gain a bit more experience.

Should have been stickied on all boards !!!!!!!!!!!!

Not on General Chat, Genealogy Chat or Find Living Relatives Boards.

Only 135 people have actually viewed the two postings.

There are going to be a lot of unhappy members when the site goes down.

At least you are still around, not having 'seen' you the last couple of days I thought you may have jumped ship Lol!!!!

May we ask what kind of changes are planned for the website?

philmoir

philmoir Report 17 Aug 2011 16:52

We are planning to release changes to the website tomorrow, Thursday 18th August 2011, at 9:45 AM (BST) . The site will be taken down for up to 30 minutes while we perform this release so you will see a "Release in Progress" page if you try to access any functionality during this period. If you are performing an action when the site becomes unavailable, I am afraid that this will not complete, and you will have to resubmit the request after the site has returned.

If you are using a "remember me" login, you should be logged straight back into the site after it has been released. If you experience any login problems, I would thoroughly recommend clearing your cookies/cache from your browser. This can be done by pressing CTL+SHFT+Delete altogether, and then clicking on the relevant dialogue box to complete the request. After you have done this, click on the Genes Reunited logo in the top left to refresh your session and put you on the home page. From here, you can use the normal login process.

We apologise for the site being unavailable during this release.
