I realise this will have been aired before, but it really is an infuriating function in its present form

The majority of people who use it do so wrongly, and, there being no way to reverse it, the ticks remain on countless threads which are still effectively open.

Please, GR, see sense.

this has most definitely been raised before, several times if memory serves me right ........................



and yes, it is most annoying, as it cannot be reversed



they're working on it :-D




surely it should be easy enough to remove the blasted thing!

Hi everyone,

I've addressed this suggestion in my latest round-up:

- We’re looking into getting this changed. I know this has come up a few times and people have requested for its complete removal or for the wording to be changed to: “I don’t require any further help”. We are discussing both options and I will update you when I know more.

please get rid of it ... please please get rid of it

it is used only by people who do not know how the boards work

and it is used by them only to mark a question from a helper that they have answered ... and then the entire thread gets marked as answered in the forum list

it should not even be possible to mark someone else's post as answered, or any other post but the OP, even if the stupid thing has to continue to exist

it is stupid, it is completely wrongly engineered, and it is far worse than useless

pleeeeease get rid of it

Surely getting rid of sonething like this will help to make the rest of the site more efficient.

All these silly add ons take up memory which can be used far more effectively and efficiently elsewhere on the site where needed.
