I'm trying to trace all my Mather relatives (and, by extension, the Walkers). My granda was George Miles Mather, born around 1878 somewhere in the county of Durham. Grandma was born Elisa (or Eliza) Walker in Houghton-le-Spring in 1880. Granda was a miner and they moved around a lot working in different collieries, as they did in those days, so my mother and her siblings were born in various places. My mother (Elizabeth - known as Betty) was born in Shotton in 1908. As far as I remember, her brothers and sisters were: Tommy, Isabella, Bob, William (Billy), George, and then Eliza (who died at the age of about 14), Annie. Does this ring any bells with anyone. Please contact me if so. Thank you, Brenda Thomas Bergerre |
