Possibly he was misunderstood, since the age is wrong; or there could be three John Burr Perretts, two born around the same time, the other born 10 years earlier?

I have two rellies with incorrect birthdates on their Canadian attestation papers. Actually, there also another one who made himself older to get into the military and made himself younger to enlist again. ;)

this looks more like it as it mentions butcher.

I will need to do some more investigating.

I am not sure why he gave his birth place as ireland as his birth as John Burr says Hindon

my johns birth on certificate says 4th november 1885 but on army info says 4th nov 1884

Mine was from Hindon in Wiltshire, his father was also a George Perrett but this one does not look like mine. On his army papers it says my John was born in Dublin Ireland, I'm not sure why he put that as his family definetly come from Wiltshire and I have his birth certificate

The John mentioned in 1930 was born April 30, 1886, Weston Super Mare, England, father George Perrett. His name was John Lewis Perrett.

i have also had the army file photocopied and sent to me.

I did find a John B Per(r)ett in the 1920 census washington snohomis who was down as a butcher and i think this was him.
