births before 1837?

could anyone tell me if i can find a birth before 1837 without going to the place of birth and looking through parish records?looking for the birth in 1822-23 in the village of eastham in whitby on the wirral of my 3xgrandfather thomas price. anyone out there that can help as i live quite a way from the wirral.thanks suexx

You could try the IGI to see if his baptism is on there. Its at www.familysearch.org

Have you tried the Cheshire Record Office that holds the Eastham parish registers?
