Hi rootgatherer - just wondering if this Mary Doris could have been and 'adoption'.. I notice she was with the family in Middlesboro on the 1901 census, and again on the 1911 census when the family moved to Shildon in county durham... But then again, her mother was in an age group where she could have had another child - yet nothing mentioned of her anywhere.............. regards, John |

Well here's Millicent with her parents. You may find that George is Fred's brother? |

Have you bought the 1911 census entry yet? It certainly looks as if Mary Doris is living with the family! Mother Alice had Mary as a middle name and it would appear that the children were named for family members. While I realise that Millicent can't be one of Alice and Freds children, I wondered if she was Freds' niece? |

I think the MARY DORIS and the MILLICENT names must be a co-incidence rootgatherer - never come across those two before...... |

Possible for the 1911 census if the marriage is correct - you either need Amy's birth or marriage certificate to confirm! |

This is useful if it's yours - the father of Frederick is Isaac and he came from Suffolk: |

Have you looked on freebmd for Amy's mother's maiden surname, then a marriage? If the marriage was before 1911 you may find them on the census and trace back from there via census records. |
