Is there anyone who is also researching Suttons of Liverpool. My William Sutton was born 1870-1872 son of John sutton B1835 and Ann sutton 1830 not sure of her maiden name. Williams siblings John b1857 Alice H b1858 Married Thomas Smith Richard b 1861 Annie b 1864 Elizabeth B1866 Amelia 1869 William 1870/2 I believe william married a Elizabeth Taylor and Had William b 1894, Daniel Thomas b1896, John 1898, Richard b1900 I think Elizabeth died in 1905 then he married a Catherine Kitty Sutton nee Baker formally Hughes 1910 and had a child John b 1911. Has anyone got any further info form me. Regards Maria

Sentenced to 5 years of penal servitude and 7 years police supervision. There are a good many records for John Suttons in Lancs. Most of them are for fraud and larceny so most probably not all the same person. There is one for a John who tried to 'unlawfully kill and murder himself' in 1887 for which he got 4 days in jail. That is terribly sad.

John and Ann who married are both called Sutton that is going to be a nightmare i'm confused already. In one of the 1881 census you have Richard sutton Married but you found out that he was widowed before that. Im sure the John Sutter born in 1834 the naughty one is him but why Dorset. Noticed the EDWIN and ALFRED died as infants thats why didn't recognise names. All the names on 1841 census is amazing thanks Do you think the John born in 1800's birth keeps changing is this quite common? The Alice Holland b1790.who is that as I have an Alice Holland Sutton born in 1858 to John and Ann Sutton. THanks again you must be exhausted now. I have been looking for years my grandad was illigitimate but we have found his BC in 2007 and we now know his real name B1909 I can now trace his real fathers family to 1790's but cannot move forward as the last info i have on him is 1911 census. then he vanished rumour has it that he died in about 1940-50. (my grandads real dad) Long story but if you can help would appreciate you investigative skills. Regards Maria
