Any information on the above? All I know is that he was baptised in St Pauls RC church on the Falls Road and subsequently moved to Kells County Meath - where married Jane McGuire in 1916. Served in WW1 and may have been invalided out. Died in 1954 in Liverpool. Thanks for any information you might have.

Richard, where did the information re James' baptism come from?

Richard

Richard Report 9 Dec 2017 20:30

Thanks but i can't find the marriage on the site. would it be possible to give me all the details on the marriage certificate including Jane's father.

George is the right father, not James.
Can anyone find a George in Belfast who might be James's father

Thanks a lot

ArgyllGran Report 9 Dec 2017 20:39

All the information on the marriage cert is as AQ stated. There's no more detail.

As you apparently already knew that his father was George, is there anything else you haven't told us about him which might provide us with any clue?

I don't see any likely George in Belfast - or anywhere in Ireland in 1901 or 1911.

Are you sure the James who died in Liverpool is the same one who married in Kells?

I ask because of this:

[KEYES] James
(St John’s Cemetery Kells County Meath Ireland)
[KEYES] Jane née Maguire
(St John’s Cemetery Kells County Meath Ireland)

EDIT:
Though I suppose he could have died in Liverpool, then been buried in Kells.

James died in Liverpool and was taken back to Ireland for burial. The Jane who died in in 1948 is buried in the same plot as her husband James in Kells.

There is a baptismal certificate for James from St Pauls RC church on the Falls Road Belfast so I think this is his likely birthplace.

Thanks so much to everybody for the information.

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 10 Dec 2017 09:48

The only George Keys I see that fits in Belfast died in 1893 age 50. He was a cabinet maker, married to Jane McGibbon.

Jane died in 1890 age 48. The last child I can see for George and Jane was Elizabeth, born 1886. I don't see a son James for them.

Richard

Richard Report 10 Dec 2017 11:32

George Keys and Jane Mcgibbon look a really good fit. What other children did they have. Marriage?

The record of military service is definitely him.

Thanks so much.
